After receiving a big blow in the form of Supreme Court judgment over the power game in national capital, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has once again demanded full statehood to Delhi.

Kejriwal called the SC judgment “unfortunate” and against “democracy” and said full statehood for Delhi is the only solution.

The state govt has decided to make full statehood for Delhi the main poll plank for AAP ahead of the general elections.

The Kejriwal govt will soon approach the public and seek a strong mandate from the Delhi’s voters so that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) wins all seven Parliamentary seats from the national capital.

Kejriwal said if they win all seven seats, then they will be able to build pressure on the Centre to grant full statehood to Delhi. The AAP and Lieutenant Governor have been at loggerheads over loss of control over the ACB and ‘services’, which means it cannot prosecute on corruption charges nor can it order appointment, removal or transfer of officials.

Kejriwal said that his govt cannot function if it doesn’t have the power to transfer officers.
